The Proposal

On January 8th I drove from LA to Santa Barbara to watch Alex play in a volleyball tournament. I brought my friend Morgan along from my tennis team to have a little getaway from LA and do some shopping with me. Right when we drove into Santa Barbara I drove straight to pick Alex up and he took Morgan and I to lunch and to walk around State street. The whole day he kept mentioning that we needed to go to some clock tower because it was the coolest thing in Santa Barbara. So after shopping, Alex drove around and pulled up next to this pretty white building... me being cold and tired said that we could just look at it from inside the car but he insisted that we go in and take a picture. So we went in and rode the elevator to the top where there was a beautiful view of Santa Barbara. We were standing by the railing looking off into the view and then he asked Morgan to take a pic of us. As she was taking the picture he said, "Wait this picture is just missing one thing...." and right then he knelt down on one knee and asked me to marry him! I had no idea (As you can tell I came straight from tennis and was still in my sweats)... I mean I knew we would be getting engaged within a few months but I didn't even know that he had a ring yet!! And when I saw the ring I could not believe how beautiful it was... He did sooo good:) I am so excited to be marrying my best friend this fall. We still don't have an exact date yet but we are thinking it will probably be this september! I will keep you posted!

Our story

We first met in September of 2008. I was the new freshman tennis player at BYU and he was the new volleyball transfer from UCI. I had seen and heard of him and was dying to meet him. So one day I was in the training room at BYU getting my back rubbed out and fell asleep on the training table. When I woke up, Alex was on the table next to me getting his knees worked on. I had wanted to meet him so I realized this was my chance. I sat up and walked right over to him and asked, "Hey... so are you on the volleyball team?" I obviously knew he played volleyball and he was wearing the clothes to prove it. He then asked if I played tennis and we chatted for a couple minutes. I'm obviously the more outgoing one because I had to approach him and start the conversation. Little did I know... he already knew exactly who I was and just a week before we actually met he had spotted me at Maglebys and told his friends that he was going to marry me! Anyways that weekend he came to watch me play tennis in the BYU invitational. After the match he asked me on a date to challenge him in tennis. I obviously kicked his butt but I knew right away from the very first date that there was no way this guy could be so perfect for me! To make a long story short we have been inseparable ever since.
